1ST LAYER – HH BASE LAYER BODYWEAR

HH Bodywear made from stay dry polypropylene absorbs no moisture. Excess heat and perspiration is transported away from the body and prevents the cold chill effect when moisture evaporates.

2ND LAYER – HH THERMAL MID-WEAR

HH W-fibrelock® pile or Crafter fleece™ retain a layer of air that insulates against cold. The materials ventilate, and let excess heat and perspiration escape and so supports your own body’s physiology to help maintain the comfort zone.

3RD LAYER – HH PROTECTIVE OUTERWEAR

Helly Tech® protection layer keeps wind, rain and snow out while allowing moisture to evaporate.

The protection layer offers varying functionality tailored to your specific needs - waterproof clothing for fishermen; polycotton or cotton clothing for tradesmen; high visibility clothing and or flame retardant clothing.

How to avoid sweating and freezing during high energy work at cold temperatures?

Polypropylene baselayer fibres do not absorb moisture. Body Perspiration is transported away from the body. The body stays dry - and warm.

When you are physically active your body produces heat and moisture. If your body becomes too hot, it feels uncomfortable and your ability to concentrate is impaired. At the same time, if you perspire and your underwear becomes wet, the risk of excessive heat loss is high. So during varied activities in cold conditions you are likely to become too warm and then too cold, depending on the intensity of activity.

In summertime, too
This also happens in summer when temperatures are higher. Heat and perspiration can often feel uncomfortable and irritating. Reduced comfort at work will affect your well-being and efficiency. At the same time we know that your ability to concentrate is impaired even by small changes in body temperature. Keeping comfortable, warm and dry is therefore also important for safety reasons.

Helly Hansen Bodywear is made from polypropylene and absorbs no moisture, provides excellent ventilation and pushes perspiration away from the body. As a result you avoid cooling down during breaks or periods of lower work intensity – and you stay dry, warm and comfortable.

Let conditions guide your choice
Not all underwear is equal, and different fabrics perform well in different conditions. You should take into account temperature, intensity of physical activity and the duration of the job when choosing underwear. Helly Hansen Base layer Bodywear’s ability to transport moisture makes it the best choice for hard and varied activity in moderately cold conditions, or for those who move regularly between indoors and outside work.
Wool absorbs more moisture than polypropylene, but has excellent insulating properties. Helly Hansen Wool base layer is recommended for moderate to low activity in severe cold.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 was introduced at the beginning of the 1990s as a response to the needs of consumers and the general public for textiles which posed no risk to health. For companies in the textile and clothing industry, the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 criteria provide for the very first time a uniform, scientifically founded evaluation standard for the human ecological safety of textiles, against the background of the globalised and extremely fragmented nature of the textile manufacturing chain. The Oeko-Tex label indicates the additional benefits of tested safety for skin-friendly clothing. In this way, the test label provides an important decision-making tool when purchasing textiles!
